2022 Annual Meeting for Herfault Houseboat

2022 Annual Meeting for Herfault Houseboat

3/24/2022

At our meeting, we went through the financials for 2022.  We reviewed our yearly bills. We voted on the new fee schedule/structure of ownership weeks which changed all 1/2 share owners to 2-week share owners and now the extra week fee is $400 a week plus the trip fee. We voted Becky Saxey in as the new Financial Secretary. We voted on a 7 day week schedule, where you take the houseboat on Tuesday and pass it on to the next owner the following Tuesday. We also discussed a few repair items taking place right now.

Please send your paperwork and payments to Becky Saxey (101 Pioneer Dr; Alpine, UT 84004). Remember to add your gas receipt to your check-out form before sending it in. Last year, we implemented a $150 trip charge instead of charging by the hour. Your gas receipt is the only way to prove you did your part in filling the boat for the gas you used. We will be enforcing a late fee of $100 if you don't send your paperwork with your money and receipts in within 14 days of returning from your trip.  We don't send out a bill. It is YOUR responsibility to send Becky your paperwork and money. Nobody will remind you how much to send in and when.

REMEMBER to check oil and scrape engines every time.  Also, remember to add distilled water to the batteries. Please clean up after yourselves, if the boat is not left clean, we will have to start charging a cleaning fee. Do not leave the houseboat unattended while you have it.

If there are any problems on the houseboat during your week, please let Annie Payne AND the next owner coming down know ASAP so they can work on getting parts to bring down with them. Things do need to be fixed when you break them, so please be proactive and do it when it happens. Don't pass it one to the next guy. We all need to work together to keep the boat working properly and looking nice. We have some full shares that we would love to sell. If you know anyone that is interested, let us know.

If you have not paid your yearly fees, please send them in as soon as possible so you can schedule your weeks for the 2022 season.  I will add them to this schedule as I receive them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me or Annie.

Thanks and Have a Great Year!

Becky Saxey - Secretary

2021 yearly meeting for Herfault Houseboat

 2/18/21

We reviewed last years notes. We went through the financials for 2020.  We reviewed what bills we have yearly and the amounts. There are a few new yearly bills- Insurance has gone up, a charge for taking the boat out and putting it in every year and for dry storage through the winter months.  We went through all the required fixes for this year- Annie Payne has the complete list, you should contact her and get your project for the year. She will keep track of who is going down to work on it and when -so there are not too many people there at one time.

We wanted to remind everyone to add a gas receipt to you check-out form before sending it in- because of the newest 150$ charge instead of charging by the hour, this is the only way to prove you did your part in filling the boat for the gas you used. Also we WILL be enforcing the late fee of 100$ if you don't send your paperwork with your money and receipts in within 14 days of returning from your trip.  I Don't send out a bill- it is YOUR responsibility to send me your paperwork and money- it is not my responsibility to remind you how much to send in and when.

We do have 5 full share that would would love to sell if you know anyone interested- let us know. As always please send in your fees so you can schedule your weeks for the 2021 season.  I will add them to this calendar as I receive them.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me or Annie.

Thanks and have a FUN and SAFE summer this year!

2/20/2019 Herfault Houseboat annual meeting!

Herfault Houseboat 2019 season annual meeting
We had our meeting at the Payne's this year- they are the new president for the association.  We are planning on taking the boat out on March 9th and will have it at OffShore to work on it for a few weeks.  We also have to have an insurance inspection done this year, so we will have to have some work done for that also.
With all the work we are going to need to do this year- we are asking everyone to take a project and do it. Please keep track of your time and receipts so we can make sure we all do a fair amount- get a hold of Annie Payne to get your work project and schedule a time you are going down to do it.
The work and associated charges are also one of the reason we are going to a straight fee for each time you use the boat, it will help us build up a financial reserve again.
We made a few new rules: 1- we won't be paying by the hour anymore, just a straight 100$ fee.  We DO still want you to fill out the forms and keep track of your hours on the generator and engines, to keep track of wear and tear. 2- Extra time will be a flat 250$ fee plus the 100$ fee per time period used that is extra. 3-If you use the propane- you are in charge of filling it and paying for it yourself- no reimbursements or credits will be made for propane anymore.
We also could sell shares to help build our money reserve, there are 5 full shares available.  They can be sold as a full share for 2500$ with a 2000$ yearly fee, or 1/2 share for 1225$ and 1000$ yearly fee.  If you have any interested people, have them get a hold of me for the needed paperwork to get them on insurance and such.
ALSO- please remember to watch for the mussel buildup on the engines and the pantoons.  If you have any questions or concerns- let me know! Thanks everyone! Have a fun SAFE SUMMER!!

3/27/18

Our new president this year will be Annie Payne.  Thank you Annie for accepting this position!  We are planning on a wonderful summer for the 2018 season.  Everyone watch the motors and the oil situation.  Others things to watch this year: propane, ladder, awnings, hours.  Next year will be the required takeout for the boat, we are planning on quite a few improvements- it will be great.  We also are trying to sale shares for the houseboat- send any interested people my way :) Have a safe, fun summer!  There are new locks on the boat, I will be emailing the combination to all current members.

3-16-17

Our annual houseboat meeting was held- and a new president was voted in. Wendy Bentley will take over from Dick Chappell.  We want to thank Dick for the MANY years of service as our president.  The list of things to work on this year is short. Remember to check for the Quagga mussels and scrape them off of the engines and pontoons as often as possible.  There are 4 shares for sell- so if you know someone interested- let us know.  For anyone that missed the meeting, you can send me your yearly dues and dates you want to use the houseboat and I can add them to the calendar. Please remember to fill the oil everytime you gas up the boat and also fill the propane if you use it.  Let us know if you notice any other problems with the boat. THANKS!!

3-10-2016

Our annual meeting was held 3-9-16 at Dick Chappell's house.  The following items were discussed.  1-There are 4 full share openings.  Rick Chappell (Dick's son) will work on getting these sold- they will be asking 2500$ for a full share or 1250$ for a 1/2 share.  This will include the first years dues.  2016 dues are 2000$ for a full share and 1000$ for a 1/2 share.
2-There are now quagga mussels in Lake Powell- please try to brush the engines and the pontoons each time you use the boat- it should help keep the build up to a minimum.
3-There is still the "pump-out" issue.  Please still pump the sewer through the top of the toilet until the boat gets taken out and it can be fixed by taking the tank off.
4-Using the Stereo and the Radio at the same time, sometimes trips the breaker. It should get fixed soon.
5-The generator has been fixed, but will still need to be re-wired to the boat's electrical system. A new generator box will be built and installed soon.
6-Propane is being left empty- please fill them if you are using them. You are welcome to bring your own if you don't want to worry about the propane refills.
7-There is a lot of extra stuff left on the side walkways- it needs to be taken home if it is yours, or it will get thrown away soon.  Also check under the couches and beds for anything that belongs to you.
8-Check oil everytime you get gas- it needs to stay full.
9-Call and cancel if you are not going to use your time scheduled.
Good luck with all your fun trips planned this year!!

Annual houseboat meeting at Dick Chappell's house. Went well. Decisions made to sell a few shares and raise this years maintenance fees to cover all expenses.  Please review all rules for this year and be courteous to the people before and after you by leaving the boat clean, and on time, etc.  Please make Dick Chappell aware of any repairs needed as soon as possible. Take oil, supplies, etc.   Good luck this year and have a fun 2015 season!
